    INTRODUCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

    This Waste Prevention and Reduction Plan<\/em> has been developed in accordance with the provisions of Government Emergency Ordinance no. 92\/2021 on waste management, as subsequently amended and supplemented.<\/p>\n

    The purpose of this document is to establish concrete measures to reduce the amount of waste generated during the activities of KNEHO ROM SRL<\/em>, as well as to increase the level of reuse, recycling, and recovery, in line with the principles of the circular economy.<\/p>\n

    Relevant definitions according to legislation:<\/strong>
    \u2013 Waste audit<\/em>: systematic and documented evaluation of the performance of the waste management system
    \u2013 Bio-waste<\/em>: biodegradable waste originating from green areas, food establishments, or households
    \u2013 Collection<\/em>: gathering and preliminary storage of waste for transport
    \u2013 Separate collection<\/em>: distinct collection of waste streams for specific treatment
    \u2013 Hazardous waste<\/em>: waste that has one or more hazardous properties defined by law
    \u2013 Waste management<\/em>: collection, transport, recovery, and disposal of waste, including traceability
    \u2013 Prevention<\/em>: measures to reduce waste quantities and environmental impact
    \u2013 Recycling<\/em>: conversion of waste into secondary raw materials
    \u2013 Reuse<\/em>: using products or components again before they become waste
    \u2013 Traceability<\/em>: monitoring the entire life cycle of the waste
    \u2013 Recovery<\/em>: operations through which waste gains a useful purpose<\/p>\n

    According to the \u201cpolluter pays\u201d principle, waste producers or holders are required to ensure the treatment of their waste, either directly or through authorized operators.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      CURRENT SITUATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Kneho Rom SRL has implemented several measures to reduce the amount of waste generated. These include the separate collection of recyclable waste, delivery to authorized companies, and the use of equipment for compacting and reusing packaging materials (for example, converting cardboard into filling material). This approach helps reduce the quantity of waste sent for final disposal in landfills.<\/p>\n

      Waste management follows the hierarchy: prevention, reuse, recycling, recovery, disposal.<\/strong> The goal is to minimize waste quantities, applying disposal only when other options are not feasible.<\/p>\n

      2.1. Activity description<\/strong>
      The main activity carried out is the wholesale of chemical products. Secondary activities are also performed on-site (as shown in Table 1).<\/p>\n

      2.2. Types of waste generated<\/strong>
      Cardboard and paper packaging, contaminated packaging, contaminated absorbent materials, aqueous sludge, scrap metal, household waste, and hazardous waste specific to the company\u2019s operations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        WASTE MANAGEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

        The company uses dedicated equipment: a horizontal baling press for cardboard, 1 m\u00b3 containers for contaminated packaging and absorbent materials, 200-liter metal drums for sludge, containers for scrap metal, and bins for household waste.<\/p>\n

        The collection and transport of waste are carried out by authorized companies under service contracts.<\/p>\n

        3.1. Action plan for waste prevention<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        • \n

          Separate collection by type, proper labeling, and storage in compliant containers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Avoiding the accumulation of large stocks that could pose fire or pollution risks.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Temporary storage on concrete, fenced, and secured platforms.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Hazardous waste is kept in closed containers, in dedicated areas equipped to prevent accidental pollution.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Transport is carried out only by authorized operators in accordance with Government Decision no. 1061\/2008.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Legal documentation (loading-unloading, shipment\/transport forms) is used for waste handover, and traceability is ensured through documentation and reporting to the Environmental Protection Agency.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          The company\u2019s activities comply with the waste hierarchy: prevention and reduction, reuse, recycling, recovery, disposal.<\/strong>
          Through separate waste collection, Kneho Rom<\/em> contributes to reducing pollution and promotes a responsible attitude toward the environment.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES<\/strong><\/p>\n

              Increase the recycling rate through separate collection<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Reduce the volume of waste generated, particularly hazardous waste<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Use water resources efficiently and reduce waste<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Implement renewable energy sources (photovoltaic panels currently being installed)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Report waste quantities in relation to activity volume, considering that an increase in sales implicitly leads to an increase in waste generation<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              5. MONITORING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MEASURES<\/strong><\/p>\n

              Monitoring is carried out by the company\u2019s environmental officers and external consultants through:<\/p>\n

                tracking the separate collection process,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                verifying compliance with storage and recovery conditions,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
