Positive or wax stains
Product description
KNEHO positive and wax stains are special wood finishing products designed to highlight the natural beauty of wood by emphasizing its grain and giving a distinctive appearance to treated surfaces.
Positive stains create an elegant contrast between the wood pores and the rest of the surface, while wax stains combine wood coloring with the protection offered by wax in a single product. Both types are ideal for achieving premium finishes with a handcrafted and natural look.
Main advantages:
- Highlights the natural beauty and structure of the wood
- Easy application, no complex techniques required
- Compatible with various wood types (oak, ash, walnut, etc.)
- Good light resistance and long-term color stability
- Wide range of shades for any interior design style
Usage recommendation
For optimal results, positive stains are especially recommended for woods with large and visible pores, such as oak, ash, or walnut. Wax stains are ideal for rustic furniture, decorative objects, and surfaces that are not exposed to heavy wear.
Subsequent finishing
Positive stains can be coated with KNEHO varnishes for additional protection. Wax-based stains usually do not require further finishing, but they can be polished for a more pronounced shine or covered with an extra layer of wax for increased protection.
Application instructions
Surface preparation
Progressively sand the wood up to a fine grit (180–220). Clean the surface thoroughly of dust. For positive stains, it is recommended to lightly moisten the wood before application to open the pores and achieve a more pronounced effect.
Applying the stain
Mix the product thoroughly before use. Apply the stain generously with a brush, sponge, or cloth, following the direction of the wood grain. For positive stains, ensure that the product penetrates well into the pores. For wax stains, apply an even layer and allow it to absorb for 5–10 minutes.
Finishing
For positive stains, remove the excess from the surface with a clean cloth, leaving the product only in the pores. Allow it to dry completely (4–6 hours). For wax stains, after the absorption time, polish the surface with a soft cloth to achieve the desired satin finish.
